My OEM rear silencer box is rattling with blown baffles and has finally rendered me sufficiently fed up with it to get it fixed. The rest of the system comprises sport 100 cell cat and cup (primary silencer bypass) pipe. The car has a drilled out air box and K&N filter. The motor is a very strong Redtek built unit.
I'm comfortable with the current sound level, but am not wanting to go a lot louder which I think rules out a G pipe replacement for the rear silencer. Nor do I want to reduce current engine power output. I can't really see the point in a straight OEM replacement in view of the cost or look for a used OEM part which would come with its own problems and likely finish up getting blown apart again.
I'm considering various options,
  • Get it welded up
  • Dansk replacement rear silencer
  • Hayward and Scott single (across the back) silencer which would replace both the current cup pipe and rear silencer
Any other ideas and advice appreciated.

I say, have the original rear silencer professionally welded up and keep the Cup pipe - a perfect combination. I´m running that combo for many years now.
