992 Sound System Electronic Interference (?)

Good day,

Picked-up my 992 in May and have been enjoying the drive, including great five-day tour to Vienna and back via the Autobahn. As you would expect, I can report a fantastic experience.

One flat side has been what I can only describe as some sort of electronic interference between my phone, the car key fob and/or the VTS fob. It happens
intermittently and sounds like a beeping / whine, and various volume. Incredibly annoying, and I can just bet that it will not happen when I take it back to the dealer for resolution.

Has anyone else come across this or have suggestions about either describing a similar problem or resolution thereof?

Many thanks!

Hi,

Sorry to hear you've experienced that, I'm currently hoofing it round in a 992 C4S demo car for the last five days (long story...But free petrol!).... I have an iPhone XSMax in the centre compartment and because its a demonstrator the key bundle includes two VTS tags in a pounch with the main key all jammed together. I haven't heard any interference in the 300+ miles I've done so far, while I'm normally listening to either Spotify or podcasts via CarPlay.

As an FYI after breaking multiple USB to lightning cables in other cars, I purchased a heavy duty 30 cm "Anker PowerLine II Lightning Cable" from Amazon which I recommend, not sure the lenght of your connector but from other non car experience that may have something to do with it?

Hope that helps.

Thanks for the post.

I was afraid of that...it just being me! Spoke with Service at West London Porsche (where is takes seven weeks to get a service appointment [!]) and I got the sense that they had no idea what I was talking about. I am going to video it the next time it happens so I have something to show them.

Thanks again.

So I had the 992 into West London Porsche, and the good news is that this is not just in my head...and I was able to replicate with a technician in the car. Apparently this has been seen on other vehicles as well.

The bad news is that while the remediation has made a significant difference in frequency and volume, the noise / problem is still there.

I will keep a running update on this issue, have booked an appointment for late August.

I don't get in my C4S which is now 2.5K into ownership. Always have (Android) phone connected in car, use the DAB radio all the time ( gentle volume) , VTS fob in center console when using CAR but key it in the pocket that replaces the defunct cup holder . Never heard a noise , I am normally very sensitive to such. , Mine has the Bose system. could it be equipment sensitive ? ( as in standard and Bm)
