981 Cayman stick on plates

The front should be on a black plastic plinth anyway and you don't have to worry about taking any paint away with the rear one, you won't just make sure you get all the old double sided stickers/tape off and clean the area throughly, you don't mention that they gave you any stickers with the new plates so I assume you don't have any so try to get some proper number plate ones as often when you see cars whrre the plates have dropped off it's because it wasn't cleaned properly or the tape used was no good, ones made by best plate work best in my experience

Thanks for the advice. The dealer did give me sticky tape too, was just apprehensive about damaging the paint on the rear. Will give it a go (and a proper clean). Thanks again

Hi there, just picked up a 981 cayman, and due to delays with the DVLA updating their tax records, I'll need to swap the physical number plates myself in a few days time (once the private plate is transferred). Has anyone done this? Think they just stick on and have the plates printed ready, but slightly nervous about ripping off the old ones and taking some paint with it! Any help appreciated
