Exposed cable/wire on opening roof

I have been cleaning the sills/shuts etc on my 986 (2004) recently but on part opening the roof I noticed this cable exposed on the drivers side? I am unsure what this could be but the roof and spoiler operate as normal. I can only assume this could be to do with the heated rear screen but if anyone knows what this cable is that would be appreciated.

I have tried to attached a photo but as it’s my first time on the forum I’m unsure if I have done this correctly.

Thanks,
Ed

Does it look like an electrical cable or a "drive" cable.

If your car has a glass window (I assume it would) then does the heated screen work? - if not then I think you have hit the nail on the head. The heated screen connection is pluggable because when the hardtop is on - the connection goes to there.

Thank you for the reply! I have now been made aware this is a tensioning cable for the roof so luckily an inexpensive fix.
