hi all,

just picked up my first porsche ! Cayman 2016 981 pdk.

super excited to find such a community.

Does any one have tips on how I could get

- reverse sensors or camera installed
- any simple performance upgrades
- any recommendations for speaker / sound upgrades

many thanks hope to meet some of you in track days or other gatherings.

thanks in advance

Welcome!!

981 caymans are great cars

yes reverse sensors easy aftermarket fit

but no point in performance upgrades- itā€™s called a Cayman s or GTSšŸ˜œ

very small gains not really worth it- the 718 turbo is a different story......

enjoy

Yes, welcome Deepak - you've chosen a great (and many here would say the best!) Porsche.

Sorry I can't help with the camera or sound upgrade but I have to agree with Dylan when it comes to performance improvements. On a naturally aspirated engine you'd need to invest buckets of cash to get a worthwhile performance upgrade. It's a well-developed performance engine, so just enjoy the car as it is in the company of fellow Porsche enthusiasts by joining the Club.

i donā€™t have front or rear sensors and whilst they can be retro fitted, if your car is under a Porsche warranty, I was told that fitting of them will invalidate the warranty......

Don't spend any money on the car and save up to part ex it for the S (with sensors, Bose and 330bhp)

learn now the car drives, enjoy the summer in it, and if you feel you want upgrades swap it back in for the next model up.

the S you can then mod to 380BHp.

The best upgrade you can get, usually, is to improve the performance of the human behind the wheel with some instruction.[;)]

Not on the drag strip and he might be a LM pro driver for all we know :)

Which is why I added "usually"! And I kind of figured a LM pro driver wouldn't be asking about speaker/sound upgrades.......[:D] And haven't noticed a whole bunch of Caymen on the drag strip either[;)]
