"On June 22ndPrescott Hill climb set in the Cotswolds will host the first ‘Porsche’s at Prescott’ event, this will be a celebration of all things Porsche.The event proposed by competitors in the Porsche Hillclimb championship will feature 35+ Porsche drivers competing in a range of cars from air-cooled classics to the latest GT3’s.
In addition to the track action there will be display cars to enjoy. There will be the iconic Porsche 956/007 group C sports racer as driven by Derek Bell and Stefan Bellof. Other cars on display will include the 1973, Porsche 911 2.8 RSR previously owned by ex-world rally champion and racer Bjorn Waldegard. This car is one of only 55 factory race cars and has an extensive race history. Another rare example of the marque is the 2009, Porsche 997 4.0 RSR. This car is one of only 20 cars built. The car has competed 5 times at Le Mans, and in 29 FIA World Endurance (WEC) races and was semi-works supported with factory drivers.
As well as the Porsches racing, the event will see the welcome return of the MAC Sunrise, SBD/HSA Speed, Midland Speed Championships along with a round of Prescott’s New Barn 'B' License Roadgoing Championship. There will also be entertainment from The Bierkeller Boys Oompah Band and hospitally from the PCGB marquee in the Orchard.
Porsche club members will be able to buy tickets at a discounted rate of 2 for 1, when purchased in advance via the club website.
