Morning to all

Im looking into buying a early Cayman and changing the wheels. Now do all Porsche wills fit? I’m thinking of buying the lobster claw wheels and lowering the ride height by 1.2 inches so would 18” or 19” fit ok ?
Any advice or tips would be much appreciated

cheers

Jerry,

I'd agree with Ralph's comments. The lobster claw design was available on the 987.1 series - probably 19" - but it was also available on the 997 series too, most likely with a different offset, so you'll need to be careful when purchasing a used set especially if you're planning to lower the car in case it introduces another body clearance limitation.

Since the Cayman was available with both wheel sizes, I doubt that there'll be a brake disc/caliper clearance issue.

Jeff,

That is an interesting point, offsets on 911 series cars are way different to Caysters so 911 Lobsters will not fit, Cayster Lobsters would probably.

I used the 19" lobster claws on my Cayman R which is factory lowered so they should be ok Offsets you need are front ET57 and rear ET46 and sizes are 8x19 front, 9.5x19 rear
