I have a 987.2 boxster and am very pleased and happy with it. However looking to the future I would like to set my sights on a 981 boxster but have a big concern about the left foot rest. I am 6'4" and find the foot rest on the 987.2 nicely tucked away in the centre console so I have plenty of room to stretch my left leg without the use of the footrest. However, on the 981 it appears to be at the same level as the accelerator pedal and just as big with no room to put my foot beside it as it will be under the brake. So, my question, can the footrest be removed? and does anyone found they have the same issue when upgrading.

I'm not sure if it can be removed but I find the foot rest position perfect. I'm not as tall as you but have long legs 32" inside leg. Go and sit in a 718 in an OPC showroom and try it out as it is exactly the same as in a 981. We did have a Macan and the foot rest in that was dreadful, not so much the location of it but the angle was all wrong.
Hi I am 6"4 34 inside leg and have had no problem. Unlike when driving my wifes new MX-5
