A few of us are considering an early run down to Malton to show support for John & his team at his Malton Big Breakfast event this coming weekend.

If you would like to join up for an early morning jaunt the plan is to meet at Washington services at 7.00am to leave at around 7.15am.

From here we plan to stop by Stokesley Market Place at around 8.10am if anyone South of the Region would like to also join us please add to this thread and we can head on the final leg together.

If you prefer to just go straight there the address is Specialist Cars, 22 Seph Way, York Road Business Park, YO17 6YB, hope to see some of you there.

See you at Washington Services - Malton support Witton so we can support them.

IV coffee and plenty of Bacon please.

Hi Guys, Looking to join your convoy on sunday, I'm in a Cayman S and other half is in a new beetle. Just wondering which way your headed from washington? i'm down in newton aycliffe so didn't know if your going A1,A19 or A66, Just so i could possibly sit along the route and keep an eye out and then jump on :) Mark

Should be ok Greg, I'll meet you at Stokesley unless anything happens. if there is any problems I'll let you know.

Hi Greg, love to come along, i’m coming from Richmond so i’ll see you all at Stokesley

I was considering a trip down too Gregg, however the wife has lunch plans with family...is there a plan for the trip back North?

I believe Greg is heading back up the coast and making a day of it - I’m planning on running the Stokesley to Helmsley TT again (in reverse, obviously) then back up the A19 to be home in Newcastle for 12:00 ish.

Don't forget your wallet this time Simon, they do excellent bacon rolls at Malton (hint, hint).

That should work for me Dave...wenare supposed to be out Saturday, but shouldn’t be a late night...so I’ll aim for Washington Services unless senior management insists on help peeling spuds!

Do we have any designated parking at the event? Few years ago I heard rumours of cars parked in the roads around the industrial estate getting scratched

There is no designated parking, the earlier you get there the better the space.

Attendance can top 4000 people, it’s an unfortunate fact that accidental damage can occur the same as with any public parking. A one-way system is in place with police and volunteer marshalls. I believe a Renault was keyed at a past event but I’m also lead to believe it wasn’t a random act.

Scarily agreeing with Mr Chapman, Malton does continue to support Witton so I will be dragging myself out of bed bright and early and see you all at Washington. Which car I'm not sure yet...

Dave

Wish I could make it especially given the weather. Unfortunately in the middle of decorating as most Bank Holidays have rubbish weather so thought why not 😬😢. Enjoy your trip tomorrow.

I’ve got out of spud pealing duties and hopefully I’ll have sobered up enough to be at Washington Serivices to meet you guys in the morning...need to be back in the NE by 1:30 tho so will be chasing Dave on his TT.

Sorry folks, plans changed for tomorrow so I won’t be able to make it 😒 Have a fab morning!

Would like to attend but a long standing committment to a biking charity event takes precedence I'm afraid.

The weather looks good for bikes....... and cabriolets, enjoy the day folks!

John & Gillian

Great run down thru the North York Moor’s for those foolish enough to be up at the crack of dawn...pity about the ’chav-alanche’ (that word will stick Deb) but Specialist Cars had some nice ones in stock...I need to check out the details of that purple 911, may be the one I helped restore in my teens! Roads busier on the way back but maybe not a bad thing with the risk of cameras.

Excellent run out, my son and I fully enjoyed it. Fish and chips at Helmsley afterwards and then a good blast home over Blakey Ridge.

Many thanks for organising

Nick and I thoroughly enjoyed our visit to specialist cars of Malton. The run down was superb and 10/10 for David taking the lead on these perfect roads on what was a perfikk day.👍🏎👍

Thanks Mike,

Apologies for only just catching up With this now. Rest assured, after seeing that speed camera van heading the other way at Stokesley we took it a little easier on the way back.

Also, interested to know what my “911 in flight” looked like from behind? [:D]
