Zunsport centre grille

I’ve just fitted the front sidegrilles to my 9912S and as easy to do as the 981 I had previously
but when I came to the centre grille unlike the 981 which fitted easily with just a couple of small screw holes,it seems the 991 needs the number plate AND holder to be removed and a slither cut out of the lower part of the holder.
i am rather unkeen to damage the plate holder especially as the centre grille is only for cosmetic purposes.
any one else come across this please
and suggested solutions including if anyone wants to buy a new 991 centre zunsport grille from me ??

I may be able to provide you with a spare plate holder. Just about to replace my front plate with a stick on. If it looks ok I'll post you my old one :)

Zunsport are looking for a 991C2S as a development car for the front grills to overcome the problem you are experiencing. This would entail spending about 4 hours at Zunsport for them to make a grill set and returning about 2 weeks later for fitment. Peter will fit the set free of charge and will pay you £250 expenses plus the new set of grills .
If you are interested call Peter at Zunsport mentioning my name and I am sure he will resolve the problem.
I have had my 991 C2 done and the grills are perfect

I was put in contact with zunsport about this offer by Phil
sadly they only want a 9912S without parking sensors to develop
i bought the full set ( with discount) but don’t think I’ll use the centre grill

Jimmy can we see a shot of your stick-on plate if it looks ok?
Will do. I took the plate and mounting off yesterday and the screw holes are pretty rotten so I'm going to have to do a bit of countersinking and filling to stop it looking crap, I'll update you with some pics when it's done.

Just as an aside before I post my solutions: I notice that many people obscure the number plate in images. Do members think that this a good idea for some real risk?

These are my stick on plates. Sticking directly to the front bumper maintains the wonderful Porsche lines. But you need a smaller font and as the bumper curves in longitudinally and vertically the stickers are difficult to apply without creases.

As I can't make an inserted photo link work

Can I ask where did you get these from?

apologies in advance but can you explain exactly what you did with the centre grille please?
i would like to use my paid for centre grilles as I think it looks more complete as in your photo
just not quite sure how you did that
did you still have to drill the grille into the centre piece?
cheers

Hi Dylan,
there is a small clip that you fit in the centre of a plastic ledge of the 991TT/S central air inlet. You then place the centre grill in position and then secure it with a supplied small black screw through a preformed hole at each end of the grille and into the plastic cowel of the car. As these screws are tightened they slightly bow the grille against the centre clip. This holds the grill firm.
There is a video of installation on the Zunsport website: https://www.zunsport.com/en/porsche-991-turbo-centre-grille?search=991%20turbo

Hope this helps
