Non PDK Tiptronic question

Hi All
Since getting the Cayenne back I have noticed when in normal mode gear changes are sluggish ( i know preempting acceleration by dropping a gear or 2 on the manual paddle shift helps} sport mode no problem.
The vehicle is booked in for gearbox oil and filter change but this got me thinking about a gearbox remap VW can improve DSG boxes by up to 90%
faster gear changes and I think Porsche PDK is similar, So is this a specialist area of expertise! looking around the internet a few people offer this service but they're all a long way from me.

So i am now wondering if this can be done via PWIS 3 software as you can alter/recalibrate most things via the software if you know what you are doing.
My old Cayenne Turbo (05 plate) I could use VW software to get almost everywhere within the electronics, but this new one as most of you know the 958 is a totally different beast throwing an error light means a trip to the inde or dealer and paying to switch it off.
Does anyone have something useful to contribute?
Regards Gordon.

Hello. I believe that the Cayenne transmission is an 8 speed automatic by Asin-Warner or something and not a pdk/dsg because of a 3.5 tonne towing capability.
These transmissions are well known for ‘going to sleep’ and being generally sluggish. This is because they’re allegedly adaptive and reflect r3cent driving. Our own Cayennes have always been this way too. Dull and unresponsive in normal driving.
I’m not aware of any gearbox software mods being offered but what can be done is to wipe the gearbox memory, that adaptive bit, and thus when you start again it’s more responsive. However a few miles of normal traffic driving, school run, in town etc will soon send it back to sleep!
If you do find a more permanent solution do share ! We use manual a lot or sport and sport plus to get it going.

Hi
thanks for that, my 8 series BMW had the same issue reset brought it back to life.
I have it booked in on the 24 April for gearbox oil and filter change and they are checking engine oil after the recent top end rebuild
will obviously keep everyone in the loop if i have any luck on the remapping
Regards Gordon.
