Clear Away the Cobwebs 7th April 2019

This year we have decided to re-run our very first Clear Away the Cobwebs at the Castles drive to Alnwick Castle Gardens and Tree House. Having spoken to the staff at the tree house, you will need to pre-book a table if we want to enjoy Sunday Lunch in their fantastic surroundings, however there are plenty of other options at either the cafe on site or perhaps at one of the many pubs or eateries in and around Alnwick.

I personally have booked a table for 1.15pm to allow plenty of time to arrive park up and take photos.

After lunch you are free to either stay and enjoy what Alnwick Gardens has to offer, head home or regroup at around 2.30pm with members continuing on our scenic drive via Bamburgh and Chillingham Castle, before eventually turning for home.

We will be starting from Beamish Hall. Here you can meet up with friends and other R3 members prior to the run from 9.30am, a chance to relax and chat over a breakfast roll with tea or coffee (£5 per person or £2.50 for teas/coffee) before heading out for our drive.

Drivers briefing will be held in the Winter Gardens at 10.30am sharp and shortly after we will be setting the first group of cars on their way.

Food options are not compulsory and if you would rather bring a picnic or your own flask this is absolutely fine.

Please also note that any drivers participating in this event choose to do so at their own risk and fully understand that it is their own responsibly to drive to the road conditions and adhere to speed limits at all times.

I'm up for this little cheeky Monkey ............. if it's raining will I be injected with a Syringe from Russia if I turn up in my BMW ............

We have booked a table for 4 for 1.15, so have two spaces in case anyone doesn’t manage to get booked and wants to join us.

Mike

I'm joining a small group with Kenny in The Plough but booked a table for 4 in The Treehouse (which I believe is now fully booked). I obviously don't require this booking now.

If anyone wants to take my booking slot (4 people) then please PM me and I will give you the booking information.

Hi Greg & Deb

Finally got the OK from our dog sitter so both Rita & I will be there! Will skip breakfast but will see you around 10:00. We have booked The Dirty Bottles Taproom, Smokehouse & Inn in Alnwick (sounds interesting!) for 1:15pm. May regroup after that but depends what time we get finished.

Looking forward to it!

Hi Greg and Deb

We will be at Beamish for breakfast, looking forward to a nice run out.

Question for

Greg or organiser of 7 april drive out to Alnwick castle tree house.

Found out why I couldn't book table in tree house as my better half had already booked it but at 12;00 Duh!!

What time do you think we will arrive there as I see you have booked for 13;15.

If this is approx time of arrival I will cancel 12:00 booking and go to the plough which I booked for 13:15.

cheers

Andy
