991.2 data connection & SIM

DAB radio reception is patchy where I live but listening/streaming via a radio station app works well. To make use of music streaming services in a 991.2 I need to either buy an add-on data plan from Porsche Connect or use an additional sim. As my mobile phone has a generous data allowance included I use it as an alternative data connection. It is fiddly to set up each time (enable personal hotspot on phone, switch off PCM phone, go through Wi-fi settings to make data connection etc etc.) It works but it is hassle (to encourage me to buy the expensive monthly data plan from Porsche Connect presumably). I do not really want additional cost given what is included with my mobile phone plan so my question is has anyone else found a way to keep a data connection to an external device so that the PCM remembers it and therefore avoid the fiddly set up each time?

Assuming you have got an iPhone, just plug it in and use Apple CarPlay. Alternatively you can stream your music by Bluetooth which doesn’t need setting up each time you want to use it.

Thanks for the reply Terry. You are right for non-streaming music services such as music on my device. The good news is that I have got it sorted now and am enjoying the full Music experience! Looking back it is not actually too difficult to do. The little trick was to cancel the prompt that pops up to turn the PCM sim back on. So best of both worlds achieved and no extra data charges. This car connectivity stuff and CarPlay are very good (in mho). I imagine the 992 will make it even easier.
