having kerbed one of my front alloys, which I will have repaired in the near future, I wonder if anybody has successfully used "alloy rim protectors".

if so any recommended products?

regards
paul

If you are talking about alloygator they are rubbish. I can't believe Porsche would ever condone fitting these bits of plastic between the tyre and the wheel of a high performance car.
I do know someone who had them (not on a Porsche) and they came away from the wheel and broke up, damaging the wheel arch.
Complained to the company and they just procrastinated - but found somewhere they fitted really well ….. in a dustbin.

Hi Paul,
I would be very wary of these. I knew someone who had these fitted and one came of at speed! finished up having a respray on the front wing due to the damage caused [:(] Just park further away from the kerb. [;)]

Thanks guys for your replies.
I will have the wheel refurbished and try and be more careful in the future!

Not withstanding the experience of others and only in the interest of balance to your thread Paul: I should say that I have had these fitted for over 12 months and they have stayed tight including several trackdays in hot and cold weather.

I did take the wheels off to fit each one and followed the instructions to the letter to increase the chances of a successful long term result. They also look good which is better than expected ;)
