Pre-purcahse inspection in South West?

Hi,

I have recently joined PCGB as I am in the hunt for a 928. I have found a good looking car that ticks the right boxes in Devon. However, I am finding it difficult to find a company "reasonably" close to the car to provide a PPI. Most companies that I have found are midlands/north or in the south east. I have searched the forums here but have not come up with any useful suggestions.

If I have to pay a premium I will but I wonder whether anyone could suggest a PPI provider in (or closer to) the south west corner of the UK.

Thanks.

Mark

I don't know about a PPI but SCS Porsche in Honiton will give you a very honest and thorough appraisal. Give them a call and speak to Andy.

You will possible learn more by having a 928 owner inspect it than a "porsche specialist" with little experience of 928s. Agreed, Paul Anderson would probably be your best bet, but I don't know how willing he would be to travel. He might know the car though.
I would recommend that you join the 928uk list, and ask on there.

An update as a courtesy. I have contacted Williams Crawford for the inspection which they are very happy to do. They are already known to the current owner so a result all round. Thanks again for all the suggestions.

SCS and Williams Crawford are both very good inde Porsche garages we are spoilt for choice down here.

Just a quick update in case anyone is interested [:)] Thanks again for all the suggestions.
Williams Crawford undertook an excellent inspection. I was able to discuss their report in detail with their 928 guru Richard and their service has been faultless.
After replacing the corroded fuel lines (and a couple of smaller issues) I am now the owner of a very attractive and well-maintained '87 S4 with just over 82k on the clock.

Hi Mark
i saw your 928 the other day when drop ping my Cayenne off, general consensus was probably the best example of a usable 928 they have had in the workshop.
enjoy your new toy
regards Gordon.

Hi, Anthony and Adrian were both very positive which is always encouraging. And the drive back to Cardiff was very enjoyable thank you!

Cheers,

Mark
