356 side mirrors

Hi,
I would like to ask whether the original 356 side mirrors are adjustable or not as mine seem to move a little by hand. Mine is a 356A with speedster typed mirrors.
Cheers,
Zane

When new, Porsche did not fit any external mirrors to their cars only the interior top of windscreen rear view mirror.
The exterior mirrors were fitted by the selling dealer at the request of the buyer, there were several makes used.
It sounds as if your mirrors are "Ponto Stabilo" which has a swept back mirror stem.
The mirror base should not move where it is fixed to the body or the door, it should be bolted to the bodywork and if this is the case needs to have the bolts tightened. If your mirrors are door mounted you can gain access to the bolts by removing the Mirror plug.
As your car is an early car (pre 1957) they may be fitted to the wings so the nuts are in the wheel bay.
The mirror part should be moveable and is often ajustable with a screw, if that part is loose.
A photo of your mirrors would be helpful.
