Note this is a Saturday and not the date published on the 2019 provisional calendar.
If you would like lunch, there are only a very few spaces left. Lunch has been moved back to 1.45pm.

March's Drive of the Month (DOTM) will start at Allon White Sports Cars, https://allonwhite.co.uk
one of the UK's longest established Morgan sports car dealers and an official Lotus Service Centre. Based in Cranfield, Allon White will service or repair any Morgan, Lotus or other classic sports car and undertakes full restorations on Morgans and Lotus. In their coach trimming workshop, they manufacture, fit, repair and restore interior trim and hoods for all makes and models of car.

This event is one of Allon White’s very popular monthly Saturday Breakfast Clubs, which have become a popular place to catch up on all things motoring.

MSCC (Morgan Sports Car Club) Overseas Liaison Officer, John Donovan, will be speaking. John has owned the same Morgan Plus 8 for many years and taken it to the farthest flung reaches of Europe, travelling in all weathers without a hood! He will be entertaining us with a resume of his travels - the good times and the challenges!

Bacon rolls, tea, coffee and chocolate biscuits are served from 9:30am, though as it's a breakfast not a brunch club, arrive early or the food will be gone!

After the talk, the DOTM itself will take us on an hour long scenic route on Bedfordshire roads to lunch from a set menu (£24.95 for two courses + 10% service) at the excellent Black Horse at Ireland https://blackhorseireland.com. We have extended the invitation to the MSCC; if they take it up, this will make an interesting convoy and offers the chance to exchange banter with enthusiasts with different tastes!!

Your options are:
Breakfast Club only 9.30am; PARK ON THE MAIN ROAD or risk getting blocked in!
Drive only 11.15am;
Lunch only 1.45pm;
Any combination of the above.

Please reply to this thread with your intentions, and email markgrimwood1@btinternet.com so I can send you more details and a copy of the large groups set menu, from which you will be asked to pre-order.

Happy motoring!
Mark

Please count me in!

where should we park the car? I've seen there's not too many space in the front, but they have the entrance to the workshop through Merchant Ln, would that be OK?

Cheers

Manuel,

There's not much parking space on the premises - and it will fill up quickly - but there's plenty of parking space on the main road and opposite. It's not a particularly busy village so you shouldn't have difficulty finding a space.

Jeff

I have been there many times (having a foot in both camps a Morgan Plus 8 and a 993) and if you are planning to leave as a group for a convoy drive, at a specific time, then best park on the road. You may get boxed in if parking round the back as later arrivals, usually Morgans, tend to abandon cars in the middle of the workshop yard! You might miss the convoy!

Hi Manuel and Mike. Thanks for checking in.

Everyone... PARKING.... as reported above (thanks John & Jeff), if you park anywhere not on the main road, you are in danger of getting jammed in... so beware!!!

Cheers

Mark

Hi Mark, would like to come along to the visit to the Morgan dealer, drive out and lunch if there are any places.

Eddie and Marilyn Smith.

Hi Eddie and Marilyn,

You are in. I have your email address, so will send you a copy of the set menu from which we have to select.

I look forward to seeing you then.

Regards.

Mark

Please note that to accommodate larger numbers, the lunch at the Black Horse at Ireland has been put back to 1.45pm.

We can stay as long as we like, and further guests can join us after we have eaten if anyone is interested.

I hope this this does not damage anyone’s plans!

Cheers.

Mark

Hi Mark,

Hello Mark

I've just emailed you Pam & my menu choices for Saturday.

We're both looking forward to a good day.

Thanks

Les

Well done for organising this Mark. Although the drive didn't quite go to plan for me (the absence of a navigator didn't help!), it was still an enjoyable run out and an excellent lunch with good company.

Jeff
