Hi everyone,

This is our first WOTY for several years, and you are invited to join us for up to four days in magnificent North Wales and on the pretty island of Anglesey.

It is my job to encourage you to come along for the whole weekend and join in all the arranged activities. But if you wish to make it a shorter break, and do some things on your own, that’s not a problem. We already have eight cars going - some for four days, some for three, and some for two.

Accommodation options are set out below. As time passes, those options will narrow, so I would ask that you consider joining the R10 party sooner rather than later, and book the accommodation you choose.

An outline of the weekend appears on the appropriate R10 events website page. Here it is in sketch:

Thursday 16th May: drive to Wales in convoy, making the most of the stunning North Wales scenery. Hotel check-in. Meet for dinner.

Friday 17th May: driving tour around the Snowdonia National Park, taking in the spectacular Llanberis Pass, Lake Bala, B4391 and the Evo Triangle. Could visit some tourist attractions. Meet for dinner.

Saturday 18th May: short visit to watch action at the PCGB track day at Anglesey circuit; it’s fully booked, but you may like to hang around for possible drives mid to late afternoon. Explore Anglesey beauty spots. Blue Flag beaches to walk on and other sights to see.

Whatever happens on other evenings, I hope you will join with all other R10 attendees to a fine dining experience tonight.

Sunday 19th May: Porsches on the Prom until 1.00pm; after lunch we make our way home.

Suggested accommodation options:
At present there is availability in Llandudno, Anglesey and elsewhere, to suit all budgets. Of the 8 cars so far booked, 4 were arranged independently of the WOTY.

If you wish to select a 4 star option with other R10 members, there is limited availability at:
Tre-Ysgawen Hall, Llangefni, Anglesey.

5 star AA tourist inn accommodation including breakfast at the Bull Hotel, Beaumaris, Anglesey has been booked by 4 cars. This carries the WOTY recommendation, because at the time of writing, several of their Townhouse rooms are available as follows:
5 x standard double rooms at £430 per room total (or Thurs £135, Fri £140, Sat £155)for the three nights including breakfast;
4 x large double rooms at £460 per room total (or Thurs £145, Fri £150, Sat £165) for the three nights including breakfast.
I was not able to reserve these rooms, so please act quickly to secure a booking and join us here. Mention ‘Mark’ and ’Porsche Club’, so they know we are one group.

Should you wish to make Llandudno your base for the weekend, you may like the option of the St George’s Hotel Llandudno, where PCGB Regional Director and 991 Register Secretary, Phil Graham has reserved a number of rooms at different rates (all of which is set out on the relevant event page of the 991 register).

There is also plenty of B&B accommodation in the area.

That completes the relevant information until nearer the time. If you wish to join in, or have questions, please let us know on this thread, and book your accommodation to avoid disappointment.

Happy motoring!
Mark

Hi Mark

Count us in. Michael & Alison, Tip & Jo.

Sadly we can’t make the four days so we will be going over on Saturday and will go the the circuit for the afternoon and hope to get a late track experience. Such great roads on way over.

We are staying quite local to the track at a Spa Hotel

Sunday we will make our way over to the Porsche on the Prom.

Last year I recall over 600 Porsche’s made the display on the prom. It was quite a sight to be seen.

This is a great weekend of all things Porsche, whats not to like.

I can not recommend this trip enough.

Michael

Hi Mark

i shall be coming up for two nights, a mate is also tagging along. We are staying at Bull Hotel, Beaumaris, Anglesey.

regards

Andy

Anyone else staying at Ye Olde Bulls Head In & Townhouse, Beaumaris?

Mark - Anything happening on either the Friday or Saturday night?

Hi, hope you don't mind an "outsider" chipping in - if anyone needs convincing, some photos from last year here =>

Hi Andy,

I am anticipating an imminent booking by one couple, which will make two couples and two singles booked into the Bull/Townhouse. The singles might yet become doubles. This is before I heard about you and your chum.

There is a long way to go yet, but so far, we already have 12 persons staying on Anglesey and 4 In Llandudno.

In answer to your question about Friday and Saturday night happenings, I haven’t got that far yet; but I will arrange, and hope that the majority of us will meet in a decent restaurant on the Saturday night in Menai Bridge, a good central point.

An invitation will go out for a more casual Friday night dinner (in Llandudno?), unless there are any more bright ideas!....watch this space!!

Cheers.

Mark

Hi Mark

We may eat in the Bull restaurant on the Friday if there is going to be a group diner on the Saturday as the food looks amazing, plus I can have a few drinks Which will make a change.

Its gonna be a good weekend away.

Regards

Andy

Hi again Andy,

Eating in the Bull on Friday makes perfect sense. I'll talk to everyone before we go and get a consensus.

Cheers. Mark

Hi,

we have booked at Sychnant Pass Country House for 2 nights, so we will go on Friday morning.

We will join you wherever you are on Friday.

Regards

Manuel

Hi everyone,

This is another plug for the WOTY, details of which appear at the top of this post. We have 8 cars going so far, with people choosing a selection of different hotels, and attending on 2,3 or 4 of the relevant days.

So however you choose to arrange the weekend, it doesn't matter, and you can join in with the R10 activities (drives and sightseeing) and meal arrangements, or not - it would be great to see you there!

Cheers.

Mark

Hi All

i have attached a map showing some of the landmarks, interesting places to visit and of course a few exceptional driving roads In the area in case people want to Explore

Mark.....EDITED POST

Friday night - are we still intending to eat in the Bull Restaurant? Unless you have another plan in mind.

If so it may be worth booking a table.....do you know numbers yet?

I spoke with the restaurant at the Bull who advised booking a table early as they do get booked out.

I have reserved a table for myself & Steve for the Friday 7.45, if anyone wishes to join us then please call the Bull on 01248810329 and extend the numbers.

Note - if there are more than 9 people we shall need to pre-book meals & pay a deposit.

If you do join us, let me know just so I can keep an eye on the numbers in case we reach 10 people and then have to pre-book.

Regards

Andy

What a great WOTY!

A big THANK YOU to Mark for organising the R10 WOTY at Anglesea and LLandudno.

Some fantastic driving roads, beautiful scenery, great accommodation, delicious meals, and lot ’n lots of laughs.

Snowdonia and surrounding area offer loads of wonderful opportunities for exercising our Porsches, so would thoroughly recommend this trip for a repeat in the future.

Peter and Susan

Looking forward the next one.
