Welcome to Porsche ownership and welcome to R21 Chiltern Region. Lovely colour and spec for your car. I hope to meet you at one of the many forthcoming regional and national events.

The next R21 event is the Feb Club Night, on Tuesday 5th, we will have Steve Winter from JAZ (Independent Porsche Specialist in St Albans) as our guest speaker. Steve has been successfully campaigning his Porsche at race meetings throughout 2018 and will be telling us about his experiences. He will also be available to answer general questions on Porsches drawing on his vast experience of all models. The meeting is at the Little Hay Golf Complex, Box Ln, Bovingdon HP3 0DT from 7.00pm onwards.

More plans for the Region are listed on the Forum and the Website.

Thanks for the welcome messages.

I am tentative for 5th Feb meeting as currently working in Germany a few days a week and not confirmed if I need to travel that week

Looks great Dave in that colour with those wheels. As they say, if you get out and don't look back, you've bought the wrong car!

Will have to make my introductions at April meeting. Germany this week, and in St Lucia for some sun and cricket at the start of March. On topic of sun actually got my first view of mine in decent sunlight during the weekly wash today

Welcome to 718 CS PDK ownership Dave.

A very nice car. You'll love owning and driving the 718 CS PDK.

Your car's spec shares a few of the options I chose on my previous 718.

One tip, if your car is new, or nearly new, have the wheel alignment geometry checked after the suspension has settled, say after 1000 miles or so. I'll be having this done soon on my new GTS and posting the comments on my forum thread.

BTW, I'll be interested to hear your comments on the steering and chassis road feel of the 718 CS compared to the Audi S3.

Some very easy compare and contrasts.

Steering...you have to steer the Porsche, the majority of time with 2 hands on the wheel, is very responsive and point and shoot, The S3 in contrast was fine for a family car but steering feel is more akin to steering a playstation/xbox racing game with very little feedback. To be honest I am still getting used to the Cayman letting you feel every little twitch.

Chassis/Road feel - S3 saloon with magnetic ride on 19" wheels was big improvement on the S3 Sportback with standard suspension on 18" wheels which was very "crashy". In contrast I have been very surprised how smooth the ride is in the Cayman given the 20" wheels and stiffer chassis etc etc. To the extent that several potholes i travel over regularly seem to have disappeared

Don't think i am saying anything you would not guessed but in summary the S3 is a very good and capable car, and i never got bored or fed up driving it but where it can get close to power output it is still a small family car with a big engine compared to a "proper" sports car
