Track Days

Hi all

I am looking to do a track day in either April or May and looking for advise on insurance companies and day cover.

I already have my car insurance but the company will not extend to cover trackdays, I shall be choosing a different insurer on renewal.

Can anyone revomm an insurance company who offers single day cover.

regards
Andy

It might be worth giving Club office a call on this - they may have some previous experience of members wishing to do the same and be able to suggest someone? [;)]

If you get a solution please come back and post the contact details and rates/terms etc as it will help others in future.

Best

Joe

Andy,

You may get a better response if you repost your question on the Club Track Days section of the forum (under PCGB Events & Club Info).

I previously found that single day track cover is prohibitively expensive (eg £200-300+), whereas Lockton and Manning both offer regular insurance that also covers unlimited U.K. track days so long as the event is managed by an ATDO registered provider (eg MSV, Javelin, Porsche Club GB - http://www.atdo.co.uk/atdo.php?pg=members&ls=all)

You may be better off cancelling your existing policy and starting afresh with manning or lockton?

Thanks Windy

I will look into that. Also got some company names from the repost on the track day section of the forum

I changed my insurance to Lockton (the porsche GB recommended insurer) , which cover Porsche club GB track days for no additional charge. As well my excess went down from by previous insurer LV and the cost was about the same. I think you have to let them know when you'll be tracking. Definitely recommend them and really easy to do business with.
