Alarm issue

Evening

Ive been getting a double horn beep about 20 seconds after locking for a few months, so whilst getting a minor service I asked the chap to investigate, we came up with a fault code that told us the interior sensor was the culprit, so a new one was ordered , fitted and the codes cleared, but the same issue was still there, fault code returned giving the same problem ??
The alarm will just go off at will, even when not set, sometimes I can just open the door and off it goes, usually it let’s we fire it up before it goes off ( bit annoying in a high street ) it won’t stop until it’s done , usually 20 / 30 seconds, locking or unlocking won’t stop it , starting up or switching off won’t stop it, in fact it’s just gone off twice whilst unlocked and in the garage !
if I could bypass the siren I would , because when it goes off nobody actually comes running to see what’s going on anyway, tbh it’s a bit pointless having A car alarm.
Any thoughts ?

Thanks

How about the tilt sensor? (To the right of the battery as you look at it, under the alarm siren). They often fill with water, setting the alarm off randomly, and don't always give a fault code. If it looks suspect, maybe try unplugging it (while the ignition is switched on to stop the siren sounding). Edit: if that doesn't help, try disconnecting the siren too. If the siren is disconnected, the alarm horn (other side of battery) will still sound on an alarm condition.

Thanks Richard

The tilt sensor has been located and has liquid inside , so I have removed it, I have also removed the siren , we are now quiet 👍

I rang the local OPC who were very helpful, evidently the tilt sensod is no longer available, you have to buy a upgrade with a new bracket , new wiring and new connector blocks, total parts cost over £300 plus someone who knows what their doing to fit it. So I have ordered a second hand one for £40 that hopefully will not have water in it and I can refit that myself.

I shall update when fitted.

The new type tilt sensor fits under the passenger seat. See how you get on with the used one, but I think it is pretty straightforward to fit the new ones. I have the instructions if you need them.
