GT136 Alarm

I have a 1988 3.2 Carrera that had a GT136 Auto Alarm/Immobiliser fitted to it in 1998. One of the fobs has stopped working, I've managed to track down a replacement that I now need to pair with the GT136 control unit. The procedure to pair it looks pretty simple by just setting a dip switch that is on the control unit, trouble is I can't find where the control unit is fitted (and I'm not sure what it looks like, although I assume its a black box...).

I've looked in the 'obvious' easy places and before I start removing lots of bits to track it down I wondered if anyone else had experience of this unit and could point me to where it is likely to be located. GT Autoalarm(UK) were in Lemington Spa, but don't appear to be trading anymore. I believe the alarm may have originally have been fitted by Autobahn in Coventry.

Many thanks

I’ve known a few immobiliser boxes such as yours, located behind the cardboard front bulkhead panel on the off side corner - drivers side on RHD.
Would be worth a look ??

Another place to look in under the passenger foot well floor ,
remove N/S/f floor carpets and one 10mm nut.

Charles.

Thank you both for responding.

Behind the cardboard bulkhead was one of the places I checked earlier, just gone back and had a good look at the off side corner, there's a bunch of relays and other electrical equipment but no alarm module - i've got a picture and dimensions of what I'm looking for now as well, which helps!)

I thought you were on to a winner with the panel under the nsf floor Charles, looks like the ideal place for putting it, but unfortunately not there.

Thanks again, will keep looking.

regards

Mark

Also under front seats. Look behind the n/s & the o/s covers that go over
the footwell heater blower motors.

Charles.

Thanks Charles, found it! Under the passenger seat, tucked away behind (what I think is) the original Porsche alarm module.

Thanks again for your help.

Regards

Mark
