Suggestion - Ferry 1x car, 4x people (approx. £450 between 4 return). One or two nights in Essen (approx. 70e p/night)
I would take my car so three people needed. Can take more than one car if a few would like to go. I have been before when I lived in the Netherlands & it was very good.
