Impromptu Run out.... Sunday 18th

Hi all

We haven't really had many runs this year, probably because of the 70th celebrations, not a bad thing though.

So I'm thinking, does anyone fancy a run out up Kielder way? We did this last year but the back end of October and was probably the best run of the year. Empty roads and beautiful scenery to enjoy.

So How about a meet at Hexham services for 10.15 -10.30 for an 11.00 bells start, or should we start earlier as to the early darker nights?

Please feel free to comment as its everybody opinion thats counts that goes towards making it a great day.

Regards

Andy

Weather looks good, not too cold. Roof down, heater on, sounds like a great idea. I was staying in Kielder recently and noticed many of the roads have been resurfaced to a good standard. So count me in as apparently I need to get some miles on the rebuilt engine before the next oil change, so any excuse for a good day out in the wilds.

Have fun, I’ll be charging around the Isle of Skye and then the West Coast of Scotland otherwise I’d have joined you.

Hi Andy. Unfortunately I won’t be able to make it. Other duties and living at the wrong end of the region mean it is too much of a stretch for me that day. It should be a good run. Have fun.

John

Hi Andy,

Sorry I can't make this one, my son is home this weekend and we rarely get to see him these days.

Hope to see you at Club night tonight.

cheers

John

Hi, we would like to join you in our Boxters, Jason & Sarah Bowman. Do you have any lunch plans ? Best wishes .

Welcome aboard Jason and Sarah

ATM I have no plans for lunch..... however that said we do pass the Anglers Arms and The Kielder Castle cafe in Kielder and Otterburn Tea rooms later on in the day. We do tend to have plenty of coffee stops on the way. We can discuss on the morning at Hexham before we set off.

Edit: I have just spoken to the Anglers Arms it wouldn't be a problem if we wanted to pop in for Sunday lunch.... [:)]

Hi tempted to join, as noted weather forecast is looking OK and I need to keep the battery topped up as I’m not using the CooperS as a daily over the winter....any idea of duration....senior management may have plans for me in the afternoon?

Also which one is Hexham services? Is it on the actual a69?

Hexham services are just off the A69, Postcode NE46 4DL. Meet in the Starbucks car park.

We are normally on our way home by 4pm. That said feel free to slope away after a few hours if your time is tight.

Hope this helps

Andy

Have a great run out.Alas ill be trying not to think about the great day all will surely have up Kielder.

I may even work tomorrow for a couple of hours to take my mind off it.[;)]

Andy

thanks for getting us all together again... Fantastic weather with even better company. Driving those roads was awesome. We had to get home straight after lunch so probably missed out on a great afternoon drive.

Thanks again

David

Thanks Andy for a great day out in the sunshine, I even enjoyed the afternoon's detour when my co-driver went haywire. He's on suspension until he cleans the car again.

Excellent route, good stop offs, especially the tea room and fine friendly company as always.

Very good day out , great company , good roads , even the weather played ball , just a pity I missed the turn off for the A 68 , meaning a very small detour on the way to coffee and cake !

Hi Andy

Just want to say thanks for organising another great day out. Does the sun always shine in Northumberand? Seems so for your events! Although we couldn't stay all day we thoroughly enjoyed the drive and time with fellow club members. A fantastic turn out too!

John & Gillian

Big thanks to Andy for organising a fantastic day. We don't get chance to join you guys as much as we would like to but when we do we are always made very welcome and have a very enjoyable day. Loved the roads today and the weather made even better.

Hope to to see you all soon!

Jason, Sarah and Pippa.

Thanks and well done Andy & Angela, not only for organising this but also for motivating us all to make the most of one of the few drier remaining weekends we probably have left in 2018.

We had a great mix of just over 20 interesting and varied Porsches come together and meet at Hexham for the run today with like-minded enthusiastic R3 members, obviously just as determined to get out and enjoy driving some of the superb roads we are so lucky enough to have available for us to enjoy here in the North East, certainly not bad numbers for an impromptu run in November, don't you think?

Deb & I really enjoyed the relaxed, fun-filled, spirited run today. There really couldn't be a better way to spend a Sunday, in my opinion, than driving your Porsche and enjoying the fantastic R3 craic and banter between friends during our Sunday lunch and later coffee stop. We certainly ensured we made the most of the winter sun.
