I want to stop the headlamps coming up with side lights on only,
I have removed the dim dip multi plug.
Is there another head lamp realy somewhere I will have to hot wire.
Or wiring I will have to alter.

My 1979 924 does what you want by having side lights in the driving lights below the bumper.
Maybe if you pull the electrical diagram for a 1979 924 you can configure the wiring that way?

Thank you. My side lights are in the bumper spot lamps.
Mine is a 924 s 1986 wiring is quite different have looked at the diagram,
Thanks again.
Chas.

My '82 also does as you're asking:

- 1st 'notch' of the headlight switch puts the side lights in the bumper on (main headlights down)
- Headlight switch fully depressed and bumper lights on plus headlight up and on dimmain beam
- If I then put the switch back to the first notch the main headlight go out but stay raised which I guess is what you're getting with the first notch from yours?

Doesn't sound impossible for you to get the desired configuration and maybe as simple as changing out the headlight switch for an earlier on?

Good luck

My red 1987 MY (1986 reg) 924S has dim/dip headlamps still with side lamps in the foglamps/driving lights in the bumper-my wife's grey 1986MY(1986 reg)924S doesn't have dim dip headlamps but I have never compared the wiring diagrams to discover the difference-there must be a link to the headlamp motor and dimming resistor at the side lamp position but whether the switch is different I have no idea.
I do know that the switch on early 924's had a 3 wire connection to the headlamp motor later changed to 4 wire switch connection which was common with early 924S's as I had to make that conversion on my friends 1976 924.
If I can glean anything from my technical file I'll post on here.

Only got the wiring diagram for the 86 MY & for some odd reason the 1st page of the 87MY but need P3 & 6 I think to see the lighting circuits.

Must download them sometime because I have often thought about being able to leave the lights down.
I imagine it's a case of inserting a simple switch in the existing wiring to give the either /or option.
