Memory Seat Control Not Working

The buttons which control the memory for the seat position on the driver's side of my 2015 Macan S D have suddenly stopped working (passenger seat adjustment still works fine). As my wife and I use the same key when driving we use the buttons on the driver's door to adjust the seating positions rather than the key. There is no red light when the SET button is pressed and no reaction to either the "1" or "2" buttons. I thought it could be a blown fuse but couldn't figure out how to extract the fuse itself as there is a pink plastic guard over each fuse box which I would inevitably break if I tried to remove it.

An American Macan forum suggests that this could be a random technical glitch in which case we'll probably just have to live with it and adjust the seating positions ourselves (poor us!). I just wondered whether anyone else had experienced the same fault and if so, how they fixed it. Our car is out of warranty now so won't be going to a Porsche Centre to be fixed.

Unfortunately an electrical gremlin could be anything. A local ish Porsche specialist should be able to at least diagnose for you for a small fee and likely quote something substantially less than an OPC

Why would an expired warranty preclude you from visiting the Porsche Centre?
They have the all latest diagnostic kit and may even have previous experience of the problem.

If your indie misdiagnoses the fault and affects the wrong repair, it could end up costing you a lot more money.

BTW - I am assuming the ignition is switched on when you attempt to programme the seating and that all other electrical functions on the door are working OK which would tend to eliminate loose connections.

Another thought is, do you have the PCM menu box ticked to preserve the vehicle settings on exit?
Regards,

Clive
