19" rims on 2001 996 tyres pressures

Can anyone advise on the optimum tyres pressures for a 996 C2 running on 19"rims ? 33 /39 psi seems a tad high to me ?

Hi Paul
As Porsche don’t recommend fitting 19”s on a 996 hence there are no recommended pressures, but the pressures for the 997 is a good starting point, but I wouldn’t drop them much from that.
Good luck
Andy

Thanks Andy . I have not had the car long so still getting used to it. I must admit the 19's do look great though.

You'll probably need to experiment a bit. I have run 19" on my 1998 996 C2 for over 5 years (235/35/19 and 265/35/19 N rated Bridgestones) and tried various combinations. Although I've tried lower pressures, because of the potholes around where I live I put the pressures up this summer to 36psi for front and 44 psi for rear. This actually resulted in the best "feel" on the road and I'll be keeping to those pressures for the future although I may go a bit lower if the weather gets bad over the winter.

Thanks all for the info... I assume all these pressures are cold ?
Steve, 36/ 44 psi seems quite high ? no wear issues ?

I run 19 TechArt rims on my Turbo . I have found 36 front and 44 rear the best so far . All pressures taken cold
Regards
Mike
