Evening All
The original material was in poor condition when I bought the car four years ago, a blast with the jet wash removed it.
Now getting round to replacing it.
What trickery or magic potions have peeps used to remove the that final adhesive layer on the underside or have you had success in laying the new material straight over the top.

I can't remember if I used petrol or thinners to remove the gunk and mess left behind on mine but I can remember you need to cover the engine bay/paintwork as when you scrape off the remains it's like leaving balls of green snot all-over the place!! I had it done in an hour or so and it is strangely rewarding.

Good luck!

It's worth noting that later cars, like mine, did not have that. Just a bare metal bonnet. You do see the rain fizzle away rainy days when not moving which is strangely satisfying!

I just retrofitted a set to my ‘89 car which didn’t have it. As well as making the engine much Quieter at idle its dramatically reduced the temperature on the top of the bonnet, which was getting really hot. Really easy to fit and I think very worthwhile.

Hi Andy
how did it go removing the adhesive and what did you use in the end as I have the same job to do on my 944s sometime over the winter.

If he did, using any of the solvents that work on the old adhesive, you won't be hearing from him again!

Do it outside.

Hi
PCT in Coventry got it for me but unfortunately they have stoped trading now . Try your local Porsche dealer as they can still get a load of parts but it may be expensive. another place could be the Porsche shop.

I bought these for my 1988 Lux and they were good quality and easy to fit.
