Zunsport grilles on 997.2 C2

Hi all
I received these in the post recently and finally got round to (trying) to fit them last weekend. The centre one was a piece of cake but I am not having any luck with the side grills. I have been in touch with Zunsport but haven't found them very helpful thus far.

I am following the instructions to put the outside edge into the aperture first but I am finding that the clip that should reach to catch the inside of the inside aperture is not long enough to reach and catch on the back of the Black plastic like it should.

Has anyone else encountered this and found a solution? I am loathed to start bending the clips out shape to try to make them reach considering they should be designed right initially.

Many thanks

I had the same problem, the front was easy.

Got round this by gently bending them over my knee until I got the shape right to fit, ended up with a bruised knee but the grilles look fantastic.

The key element is bending the inner edge to fit, the outer edge is pretty close and only needs a minor tweek.

Just take your time and keep checking as you bend the grilles.

Thanks Johnboyevans. A little manipulating got them in.

For anyone's future reference, they will hold a different curve to the opening of the vent once fitted as you, in effect, need to shorten the distance between clips in order for the inside edge clip to tuck close enough in to engage with the back of the Black plastic. after a little bending you will need to push the inside edge hard to get them as close in as possible for the clip to engage. I also, very slightly, opened up the clip with pliers to help it past the Black plastic.

Happy fitting

Have you had experience of them falling off? If someone can be bothered to try to unclip them im sure they can be bothered to cut a cable tie, though i accept its another line of defense that can do no harm.

Hi
I am thinking about these after cleaning half a tree and leaves out of the rads

Any chance of posting a piccy I would to see what they look like and did you have remove the front bumper

RENNLIST grilles you have to remove the bumper and while its off you can properly clean the rads as the muck sits at the top

Hi Mike,
Though i initially had fitting trouble with the side grilles I would recommend these. Bumper stayed on as did the number plate. Basically a 30 mins job. Its all down to whether you prefer to still see the plastic strips in front of the grille or not but for the hassle factor I wouldn't bother with the Rennlist option. There is also a PCGB discount code somewhere for 15% the Zun ones. Just do a search, its from 2009 I think but still worked.
I will try to add a picture soon.

Hope this worked, never added a photo before.
It didn't - but it does now...[:)]

Hey Mike
To be honest it took a while for them to grow on me but given the hassle factor of the preferred grilles that require removing the bumper i was swayed. They are discreet still though seeing the plastic fins ion the side vents is all that is lost really.

Not offended
