Hi I've often wondered how many of us actually use this forum on a regular basis. If you're on here and reading this then post something below so that we can see who we all are.
The reason for this is that I think we should be communicating more about whats going on in the region on here, and if there is enough of us on here and not just the two or three members that I suspect are on here them maybe we can start having more and better discussions on here.
 
I visit the forums regularly. Mostly to see what people are up to with their cars.
I've recently had my 944 S2 in for a lot of bodywork and a respray and it's always interesting to see other peoples cars.

With work and kids, i can generally never make meets etc, but as someone relatively new to 944 ownership, seeing other peoples cars in the flesh would be very interesting. This region seems a quiet one, but would be great to know where everyone is and maybe arrange something that may be closer to more people.
I'm in Burntisland in Fife for example, so getting into Edinburgh in an evening is a pain!
 
I use the forums often (ie, more than once per week) to keep in touch with the guys I know from London/Kent regions and the 3.2 register.
I don't do Facebook and this is my only mechanism for connecting and getting information.

I look at the forum most days to see what events/meets are going on and just general gossip.
 
There are a few of us 944 people on here. We have just started to have meetings again in Scotland. The last one was near Falkirk. i'll keep you posted for the next one. I
 
I’m on quite regularly too, bought my 944 thinking it would do me a year or two but that was over 5 years ago, it’s never given me any trouble at all mechanically and has proved more reliable than many modern cars I’ve had. The sills did rust badly but I’ve just had both replaced last month so all is good again.

Been looking for a 996 for a while but its proving quite difficult and they’re all so far away.
 
I used to check the Forum daily, now I get subscription notification when someone posts in Scotland section, which isn't very often these days.
I used to like when Events were posted up and you could reply to say you were going and you could interact with others who were going, then after the Event people would post up pictures and a brief report. This was great as it encouraged others who didn't go to make sure they came along to future Events.
Email doesn't offer that and the Regions Facebook isn't set up to allow interaction between Members like other Regions and Clubs do.

I also look at the forum most days to see what events/meets are going on, but tend to focus on my main interest being the 991's, and three local Regional Activities plus of course the General topics.

I have found it very informative, current and at times can be a big help. I have always managed to get a good response to any posts I have subscribed.
 
I tend to look at the forum regularly but have found our region to be very quiet, more interest elsewhere on the other regions. I agree with Alan on his various points regarding emails and Facebook as methods of communication. I was very close to terminating my membership recently but hope that matters can move on. More use of the forum by our members can only improve matters.
Mark, I see you are in Burntisland and I am close by in North Queensferry. I am sure we could meet up if you wish.
 
I am on the forum too much according to my wife :ROFLMAO: I look at the various post on a daily basis from all the regions and my favourite Spyder section .The forum should I think be the hub to let people know what is going on in the region, not into FB and not all members use it . We do get emails from our RO advising us off upcoming events but if some one wants to organize a run /meet at short notice the forum is the ideal platform. The club does have a FB account but find it not user friendly and comments cannot be added I think? I have been a member since 1992 yes that long ! pre emails and you had to organize an event months in advance to be posted up in the club mag ,or phone people up .With todays tec as you all know do it in hours . There are loads of people who post on here and for various reasons never see them at club meets or events .
 
I look at the forum most days but usually see the notification of the monthly meeting the day after it has happened! I also check the model-specific forum but find alternative forums much more active in this area.
 
I am on the forum at least once, often twice, a day.
I don't post much these days as I don't have much to add unlike a few years ago when I was more involved with the Club
HOWEVER you will be seeing more from me in a couple of months as I will be announcing mext years Porscheshop Manx Tour.
 
Nice to see you are still active with the IOM tour ...went on your very first one a great long weekend .. anyone reading this well worth a visit over .
 
I pop in occasionally. The Scotland section used to be fairly busy, but a couple of things killed it off (in my opinion). The first being the separation into North and South. There was no need and there was often cross-pollenation of events between the regions (especially east coast events which were easily accessible by both regions). It also kept the level of traffic on the forums a little higher and created a momentum effect which encouraged people to visit as there was always some conversation ongoing. The needless subdivision of the sections had an immediate noticeable impact on the activity level. Secondly the new forum software is poor are retaining login details and for many (all?) users there is a necessity to login each visit.
 
I check the forum daily. I get email alerts when someone posts in the forums I’m signed up to.
The regular emails about events are good.
The R1 Facebook page is a waste of time as a communication tool, as you can’t post a message on it. It only shows historical data. If someone wanted to organise a quick run or meet up, you should be able to post a message for others to see and respond to. There is no banter either. You should look at what R2 do, it’s very user friendly.

 
All other Facebook groups are set up so that members can post and interact. As far as I am aware it is currently run by young Donald, not even sure if he is a member in his own rite.
I was present along with Chris Seaward when another member offered to help run the Facebook page and set it up correctly.
I personally think there is a control thing going on, this is a forum run by Our Club but the RO refuses to use it, this is not currently the relaxed enjoyable Region it was.
