Not all Centres sign up to the Porsche GB service pricing.. so you may get a better price at another outside your Centre's group

Hi,

My 991.2 Targa 4S is due its first, the ‘two year’ service and I have just received a quote from my supplying OPC of £610 for a ‘Minor’ Service. This excludes the Brake Fluid change.

Unfortunately the prices quoted on the Porsche website are only for 991.1 models although the Minor service on those is only stated to be £495. Looking at the full service price lists, most Porsche models, excluding GT3’s seem to be in the mid £400’s, so I thought my quote seems a little expensive.

Have any other owners been quoted similar prices, or should I try to ring around to try and get a lower price.

Do all OPC’s offer discounts to PCGB members?

I will appreciate any comments.

David

I had this a couple of years ago with my 991.1, they have the basic service then a bunch of “recommended” items which bump up the price, some/all of which you don’t necessarily need but if you’re anxious you’ll go for them and the more anxious or financially carefree will tell you you should get done.

At the end end of the day OPC’s are there to make money from you, if it was something that REALLY should be done for warranty or safety reasons these items would be part of the std service cost IMO

I recently had my 4S in at my local Porsche dealership for its 1st service.

£687.00 + brake fluid service and air con service (advisory) + VAT.

I forgot about the added VAT :0

If you want to use an OPC and have more than one close to you then it‘s worth getting quotes.

Prices certainly vary in my experience and some will also give PCGB discount on servicing and some will not, so worth shopping around if you want to.

I recently had my 991.1 serviced at a non Porsche OPC and saved about £400 on a 6 year service when compared to my more local Porsche owned OPC. My car was collected and delivered and there were absolutely no recommendations for air condition service, brake pad/disc renewal etc etc. Was very happy with this result. The OPC that I bought my car from 5 and a half years ago on each of the previous services always tried to sell me air condition re-gas and break pad changes. I am very happy with the service and price. I did compare the price of a well known Indy close to my Porsche OPC and their prices were a smidgen difference to that OPC!

I does pay to shop wisely.

UPDATE.... Eventually I received quotes from Four local OPC’s, prices varied by almost £300.

Decided to book in with Sutton Coldfield who quoted £395inc VAT, so took it in yesterday morning and was quite impressed with the reception I was given, and work was completed as promised just after lunch.

Yes, I was offered an Air Con Service which I declined, but other than that the price held.

Some time ago, I was led to believe that Porsche GB had fixed pricing for basic servicing and repairs, but it apparently lapsed in 2017, so just advising all to certainly shop around, there are large differences out there.

I have just pulled my invoice from my Minor 1st service on 2 year anniversary mileage was 10,485 In May 16. Cost was £652.74 inc vat ex vat £543.95 this was for my 991.1 Targa 4S. This included brake fluid. Mobil is Oil change and number of air filter, particle filters. Etc. My quote was £502.74.

seems 991.2 is cheaper or is this completion at work within the network.
