Oetiker clamps

Hi

In last few weeks ive needed oetiker clamps for couple of jobs (windscreen wipers and idle control valve). They are about £3 each from companies like design 911, where are you buying yours or are you replacing with the worm clamps? I've found sites like tom parker that sell oetiker clamps cheaper but they dont seem to have the porsche sizes (10.5mm, 26-30mm). They have sizes close to what i need but either not exact or they only have 2 ear when oem is one ear say. I've also tried ebay and usual places but cant find exact replacements.
Thanks
Stephen

Have you tried contacting www.oetiker.com

Otherwise how do OPC's prices (after the discount) compare.

My preference and experience would always go for two-ear clamps. My early days in engineering spent many a time fitting high pressure hydraulic and aero lines on equipment used industries such as sub-sea to food manufacturing. Two-ear clamps allowed for better circumference tightening (little bit at a time) and less prone to pipe pinching. Two-ear clamps over one-ear clamps allow for a bit more diameter tolerance in that the ear plier closing is greater. I'd be extremely surprised if an OPC clamp is unique in its' diameter to normal industry uses - Porsche will use the same pipe and fitting suppliers that other industries will use. Material type is dictated by end use environment. For the most part I stuck to stainless steel (driven by regulation requirements) - food manufacturing and sea diving. Many UK suppliers out there that I've used in the past - a google search will point you in the right direction. Will dig out any names I have when I can.

Thanks david. I tried the oetiker website and you cant purchase direct so have emailed and asked them. I've also ordered a few sizes from https://www.tom-parker.co...archText=oetiker+clamp they werent exactly the same as the porsche recommended sizes but hopefully close enough that they will fit. For the idle control valve the OE clips are now £5.90 each (9995123800B) and tom parker has what looks similar for £0.88 so hopefully these will work and should look very similar to the ones i'll remove.

I have now bought the official porsche oetiker clamps and some similar oetiker clamps from tom parker. The porsche ones look better made and are bit more complex however the tom parker ones are servicable and about 1/3 the cost so worth checking out, particularly for places like windscreen washer connections where they arent under much pressure.

Thanks for doing the research, much appreciated.
