2019 Dolomite Tour

To all those who are traveling via Euro-Tunnel for the trip!

If you have booked your car as a 'Car under 6ft/1.85m' on Euro-Tunnel, please contact Euro-Tunnel to get this amended to a High car (car over 6ft/1.85m)

In their FAQ section at https://help.eurotunnel.com/hc/en-gb/articles/208532489-What-vehicle-type-should-I-book-my-vehicle-as it reads:

“Low ground-clearance vehicles (sports cars): If your car is exceptionally wide or has low ground-clearance we recommend that you book your vehicle as a High car (car over 6ft/1.85m) to avoid difficulty boarding our shuttles.”

I have just telephoned Euro-Tunnel to amend my car details and amended to a High car (car over 6ft/1.85m) and received confirmation - all good now. Thanks to the thread at https://www.porscheclubgb.com/forum/tm.aspx?m=1025293#1025467 initiated by Jaw911

We booked the high carriage for our cars last year. However, when waiting to go onto the train they pulled some vans past us and by the time we went to go in were told 'sorry we're full!'. Got shunted back onto the normal carriages, or a choice of waiting for the next train. As a friend was on the same train we went into the normal carriages. Turns out he missed it anyway so we had to wait on the other side for him. We've booked high carriage again this year, although I've never caught my wheels (so far), it is very close on the normal carriage. Said friend has had his Evora wheels damaged though.

You’re welcome!! Have a great time. We are doing Switzerland next.....then Italy hopefully so looking forward to reading all about it [:)]
