Saying Hello

Evening all

Just a quick first post to say hi, I will be picking up my 996 Targa in a few weeks (first Porsche). I have always lusted after a Porsche, from about the age of 10 so for my 40th I have decided the time is right to treat myself.

I am looking forward to meeting some like minded people and am hoping to get to the event at the Aberdeen OPC early October.

The car has a good history but I have a few jobs on the radar:

  • Although the roof works fine, it rattles so some strategically placed felt should improve that
  • I am 6'2" so am contemplating a centre console delete but car has PCM1 with Nav so I need to think about moving the HVAC unit back up to the main dash, installing a single din Stereo and relocating the heated seat switches and targa mechanism switches - perhaps a winter project once I have put some miles on it. If I dont do the console delete (tempted by the steering column extension) then it will be a new double din stereo install!
  • Drive it drive it drive it
Regards

Chris

Hi Chris,

Great to hear you joined - on behalf of R2 let me extend a warm welcome to the region.

I hope you're delighted with your 996, great choice of Porsche, I'd love one myself. I recently drove a 997 Targa and really really enjoyed it!

All the upcoming events are on the R2 section and will be communicated by email - please drop us a line if you'd like to come along to any.

All the best,
George + Caitlin
