Smoke from dashboard!

Hi
A few weeks back I noticed a small amount of smoke from my dashboard! Thinking it was from the vents?Switched everything off quick and did various checks but found nothing. Used the car a few more times, nothing.

Today I went to Brands, just got to the M25 and a load of smoke, argh!

White/grey smoke, smelt of hot plastic/burning. Switched everything off quick and all ok again . . .

Pretty sure it from the ventilation system, maybe the blower fan? Could it be sticking and over heating? I don't just leave it on all the time so this could be why I have been lucky with no issue in recent weeks?

Appreciate any thoughts or guidance before I start pulling things apart

Thanks
Darren

This happened to me, it turned out to be the fan heater In the engine bay.

Additional to protect the wiring loom in our cars, it is advisable to add relays to the headlight feed and also fuse the light switch.

Details of these mods can be found in other threads on the 3.2 forum.

Make sure you don’t have an oil leak which is leaking into heat exchangers and then being pulled through to the cabin.

Thanks for your input lads, appreciated.
The car was only serviced by JZ about 2 weeks ago and coincidentally they commented the engine was very dry; they rebuilt it about 30k back so we're happy to see it. Hoping this leaves me back at the fan unit
I just googled fresh air blower and found more data noting the brushes were due to overheating and melting so again this could all tie back, think it's time to start pulling this apart and see what I can find . . .
Thanks again, fingers crossed, Darren
