Andrew and Samantha Mearns have very kindly invited all R3 members to pop along and join them at their premises at Unit 14, Nidd Valley Trading Estate, Market Flat Lane, Knaresborough HG5 9JA.

Andrew tells us, all are welcome to pop along to sample their hospitality and have a good look around their premises and the fantastic cars and tractors that will be available to view on the day.

As yet they are still putting the finishing touches to their plans regarding what to expect throughout the day and as such I will update when I know more.

Another great opportunity to get the cars out for a run, please add your name to this thread to give the guys a heads up as to what numbers to expect and if anyone would like to join us for the drive down together we can organise a couple of meeting points nearer the time.

Run to Knaresborough, look at Porsches, receive some "hospitality" , what's not to like?

Hopefully the hospitality is finest Arabica, ground to perfection with a spot of milk.....

I'm in.....[:)]

Greg put Moira and me down for this. We will probably book into the The General Tarleton for a spot of lunch as well. Booked for lunch 1.30pm

Count me in.

Ive been wanting to attend loads of events this year but other things have been getting in the way

Really enjoyed trip to Kirkby Stephen.

Plus me and Lorraine plan to attend next monthly meeting . Fingers Crossed🚗

There's a rumour going around to the effect I may have my car back at the end of the week following it's exceedingly lengthy time at Hartech. It's going to need to be run to get the new cylinders bedded in, followed by multiple oil changes.

It should be perfect following the six new cylinders, pistons and associated bearings, IMS bearing (even though the original was not too bad), RMS seal (although this apparently is a bit of a myth put about by Porsche warranty claims?), timing chain, water and oil pumps and other stuff I've yet to see on the invoice. So pretty much a new engine. I had everything done while it was on the operating table to give it some "future proofing" as they say.

So hopefully you will see me on Sunday, if I can remember how to drive it after so long.

It better be perfect, or I'll have to start selling body parts to pay for anything else!

Hi Greg,

don’t think I confirmed on this, but add me provisionally please.

Reckon Simon will be coming to - not sure if we’re car-sharing or in our own cars, will confirm later in the week.

Hi, first post and not yet involved with the club despite my best intentions!! Love to join you all on this, looks fun. Are people meeting to drive down in 'convoy'??

Hi Paul & welcome to the forum.

If you would like to meet up, we are planning to meet firstly at Washington Services Southbound at 9.45am for anyone wanting to drive down together and leaving at around 10.00am before regrouping at Scotch Corner en route around 10.45 then heading on to Gmund Cars Unit 14, Nidd Valley Trading Estate, Market Flat Lane, Knaresborough, HG5 9JA. You are free to look around and leave whenever you wish, there are no plans as yet to drive back together, we'll discuss on the day, weather depending we may even stop for a late lunch on the way back, hope to see you Sunday.

Greg.

Thanks Greg, I live near Scotch Corner so I'll see you there at 10:45, looking forward to it.

Sorry but we are going to miss Sunday's outing. The Boxster will not be available until early next week :-(
