2018 REGISTER CHRISTMAS PARTY
Saturday 1st December 2017

The final glittering Register occasion of the year and a wonderful way to join with friends and fellow members to finish a busy season in style.

Those who have attended previously will know this event is one of the highlights of our year and provides a chance to unwind in commodious surroundings and glam up a bit too on Saturday night to celebrate the start of the festive season with lovely like-minded people.

Wroxall Abbey Hotel and Estate, Birmingham Road, Wroxall, Warwickshire, CV35 7NB is an award winning 4* Hotel dating back to the 12th Century. It was once the country seat of Sir Christopher Wren. It is not only a beautiful luxury Warwickshire hotel , but one of the most historic, set in 27 acres of unspoilt parkland and gardens. The hotel facilities include a spa and swimming pool. You can take a look at the website http://www.wroxall.com/ and there's YouTube video here. Members and guests will enjoy:-

We have a limited number of rooms available at the special concessionary rate of £170.90 which includes our festive dinner and party, Saturday night accommodation and Sunday morning breakfast, based on 2 sharing (singles £112.95). Many extend their stay and make a weekend of it by booking Friday evening too. You can extend your stay for Friday or Sunday (or both) at the special rate of £100 B&B (singles £80) per night. Last year the dinner itself was excellent with diners being able to choose from a 3 course Festive menu with coffee and petit fours provided. This year's menu will be available within the next few weeks. Although there's plenty of time to go, 90% of our allocated rooms are already booked, so if you wish to join us, now would be a good time to reserve your place. Last year we were well oversubscribed and had to disappoint several latecomers, so please don't let this be you.

Reservations are open NOW and all you need to do is email me - lancerlot@hotmail.co.uk for the dedicated contact arrangements and booking code in order to secure your place. A £50 deposit is payable at time of booking. Always an enjoyable end-of-season get-together - so please don't miss it. It's an ideal occasion for new members to get to know one another and for old hands to meet up and "chew the fat".

On Sunday, for those who want to, we will be travelling over to Club HQ, Cornbury House Moreton-in-Marsh on Sunday morning to join in with all the Christmas Open Day festivities and enjoy a bit of PCGB hospitality and retail therapy in the trade stalls and Club shop.

Hope to see you there!

Hi Clive

Looking forward to the 2018 Christmas Party, already booked and expect a great night as in previous years, however I am interested to understand how you are going to manage to celebrate 2018's party on the 1st of December 2017.

I realise the capabilities of modern transport are moving on at a pace but "time travel" is a further step on, pray tell how we are managing this feat, a Porsche DeLorean perhaps ?

I wondered who would be the first to spot that! :ROFLMAO:

Senior moment. [:(]

Thanks Geoff.

PARTY UPDATES

1.) For the first time, this year we are being favoured with a distinguished after-dinner guest speaker, Mike Wilds, who is a British racing driver and PCGB member, having participated in 8 Formula One World Championship Grands Prix, debuting in 1974, after winning races in Formula 3 and Formula 5000. He has also driven 8 times at Le Mans and won the Formula Two class in the Aurora AFX championship and Thoroughbred Sports Cars championship. In the '90's he won Historic Sports Car Championship 4 times.

He still occasionally drives in historic race car events cars and the Britcar Endurance grid in 2016, posting his first win as a shared drive with son, Anthony in a Ferrari 458. At the age of 72 he is set to make a debut in the Porsche Carrera Cup Great Britain series. He is also an active commercial helicopter pilot and instructor.

We look forward to welcoming him and hope to have a short Q&A session too, before adjourning to the bar!

2.) The menu has changed and the new one is attached. BTW - only the fish courses have been changed.

3.) I can confirm the Clubhouse will be open for party-goers on Sunday morning 2nd December and if you wish to attend, please register your interest via this link here.

4.) For those overnighting on Friday and for anyone wanting to join us earlier on, we are thinking about an activity and snack lunch on Saturday. More details soon.
