Rattling Pads

Any tips for stopping the pads rattling in the calipers? Driving me crackers after recent caliper refurb.

Perhaps your old pads had been ground down to make them fit in the calipers if you had plate lift?
In which case they will now be too short, so the best solution is probably a new set of pads. I refurbed mine and fitted new pads at the same time and they have never rattled.

Either that or some body got over excited removing the corrosion and now the pad perches are to far apart, you could try fitting anti squeal shims to shut them up

i would try some new pads first if they are not new

Is it up and down rattle or left to right? Left to right would mean an inop side of a caliper. Up and down means what the boys have said unless the retaining cross springs are unclipped or distorted somehow. New pads and a close inspection probably a good starting point.

it got the brembo's so not sure how they can rattle as the wire spring on the top should keep them still.

A warped disc could cause similar noise flicking at a pad each time it rotates. I had a warped rear recently doing similar. Can get change out of £40 for a pagid rear disc from CP4L using one of the offers that are always on. Obviously buying in pairs a good idea!
