Mystery switch help

Far left switch is sunroof open/close on a coupe, hood raise/lower on a cabriolet. Ignition on but engine off it engages and disengages the mechanism (the operating arms at the rear of the sunroof panel) so you can lift the sunroof panel out, engine on it lifts and lowers the sunroof panel.

Hi All
First post and newish 968 Sport owner. Im still figuring my car out, Im nearly there but one thing Im stuck on. I have a switch on the centre console by the gear stick. Picture below(far left switch). It works(as in the light comes on when you press it) and I can hear some sort of clicking from behind the dash. I also have two sensors on the dashboard(assuming alarm) which Im guessing were added in addition to the standard alarm/imob that came with the car and could be related. Any ideas?
Thanks

I have only the three switches, from right; mirrors, central lock, roof raise/lower (same switch if cab). Far left switch you have, no idea. Disconnect this switch and see what happens or doesn't work. Likely a fuse may be associated with this switch and if a later addition then may be an inline fuse underneath the console maybe. Nothing in the car's history or receipts to idicate any aftermarket or mod work?

No cant find anything about it. My bet is a second alarm, Ive read some insurers back in the day werent satisfied with the standard cat 1 alarm and wanted cat 2! or the other way.

The Blaupunk cassette isnt working at the moment, clearly someone has put a different head unit in at some point. Its going to Accutek to have that sorted, they are really good electrics guys so Ill see what they reckon.

Slightly annoying, I want the car really standard, hardly the end of the world though.

Just realised there's a switch far left with no markings on it, didn't see it first time! Plus it has a little indicator light below it, rather like the indicator light for the factory fit alarm/immobiliser on the right. IIRC the factory fit immobiliser was only rated 2 by Thatcham, and coupled with the thing on the right of the dashboard I reckon you're right, it's some form of aftermarket alarm system. Accutek may well be able to tell you more!
