Power Steering Radiator Coil

Evening All
Went out for a spirited run, scrubing in new set tyres. Once everything was warmed up, gave the middle pedal a work out to find the front o/s locking up far too easily - hmmmmm concerns for a potential caliper issue.
Got home, entered the drive to find the power steering pump making a huge racket on full lock.
Yep ........... coil has split, spraying fluid all over front o/s tyre - bugger.
1/ Is the cooling coil necessary ?
2/ Who has replaced theirs recently, quick google. Power Steering Supplies £95, Woolies £129, Design 911 £195 - Will contact my local OPC tomorrow. Currently drawn towards the Woolies item, made in stainless but two week order time.
Any other options ??

Look forward to your informed & honest replies [:)]

looked in pet for a 944 S2 one, no part number, does not appear to be a coil for the early 944, just listed as a return line £288.00, the later cars 85> i can see the coil but no part number is shown,

If its the Return Line as one part with the coil then 944 347 459 03 £149.78 inc vat

Had that happen on one of mine. Bypassed it, had no issues for months before I fitted a replacement.
