Fellas, I have had my car in bits after some minor bodywork and paint, decided to rebuild the brakes, new
cross drilled vented discs all round, along with pads and wear sensors and a full calliper rebuild, slider plates now out (basta rd job) .
The brake calliper are now off for blasting and powder coating, better job said Carl the powder coater if we take the seals out then we can acid dip them but will knacker the seals, phoned OPC (Kendal) you can only get the seals with new Pistons basically £200+ a corner......ouch !
Rang Bigg Red £60 odd for the full seal kit with club discount and they have chucked in some new Brembo bleed nipple covers Gratis !
Hopefully all back together with with new oil and coolant by the end of the month [:D]
Big recommendation for Bigg Red for service if you are doing brakes.

+1 Frenchy. I used them for my recent front caliper overhaul. Was about 50 quid delivered I recall for all seals and new caps.

Seems a bit odd, in January I asked Bigg Red if they could overhaul my 91 turbo front calipers and they said no. They recommended someone else.

Scam with the MO30 calipers you have to buy piston and seal from Opc, yet you can get seal sets only need on certain Brembo from Opc ?
Go figure ?
Either way Bigg Red saved the day, those slider plates are a bug..er to get out, I chopped down a a couple of 4 mm Allen keys into 20mm lengths cleaned the insert of the fastner up, my mate welded them in got a 4mm socket on them and they pretty much shifted no bother, let them cool for a minute or 2 before attacking them.
This was after an hour or so heating and bashing one around with a centre punch X 16 that is a lot of time and grief !

They didn't overhaul them. Just used them for the seals. 36mm/44mm kit.
I know. They just couldn't or wouldn't do the refurb. I read on another forum the quality of their work can be hit or miss too.

Yes Frenchy that is odd OPC behaviour. And yes those plate retaining screws, less said the better. Up there with the gearbox oil cooler loop in terms of design brilliance!
