An interesting recent road test comparison carried out by Autocar pitted the 911 GTS against the New Aston Martin Vantage and McLaren 570S and found out what most of us already know, in the real world the GTS proved to be the most usable and enjoyable of the 3.

Here's what it says in summary:-

1st - Porsche 911: Usable, tactile, playful and absorbing to drive. What it lacks in outright pace or visual star quality it more than makes up for on the road.
2nd - Aston Martin Vantage: Still more sporting GT than out-and-out sports car, but a wonderful driver’s car all the same. Fast, exciting, enriching and characterful.
3rd - McLaren 570S: A proper supercar among lesser mortals. Didn’t excel on wet roads; would amaze on others.

A similar article in Evo this month comparing the 4GTS with AM Vantage, Audi R8 V10 and McLaren 540C. Again the GTS came top by a whisker! (The base price is £20k less than the next in line too!)
1. 911 Carrera GTS
2. McLaren 540C
3. Audi R8 V10 Plus
4. AM Vantage
