Missfire problem 996 cabrio

Hi all
I’ve got a missfire on cylinder 2 according to my fault reader , I’ve change all the coils thinking it was that but it’s still sounding rough but only when it warms up, the engine light is flashing and exhaust had a split in which I used gun gum until I can afford a new one (sounds a bit blowing) so not sure if an exhaust issue. The other thing i am yet to try is to clean the MAF. Any ideas on what else it could be??? Thanks

I don't think the exhaust would throw up a misfire code - it would be an emissions-related code. Similarly for the MAF - it would be an emissions code, and not restricted to one cylinder.

Was it P0302? Any other codes? Did you change the plugs?

It could be an injector, but that is very, very rare, compared to coil packs.

the plugs were changed a few months ago, but stupidly didn't change the coil packs so assumed it was that, yes it was P0302. Not sure about any other codes but im going to clean the Maf tomorrow and run it so if its still an issue i will get the code again.

update... i've cleaned the Maf and put in some injector cleaner, i gave it a run out for about 30 mins and its seems to have sorted the missfire it drove like a dream, i hope this is now sorted but will see what happens over the next few weeks. Thanks for your help

If you can clean the end of the coil pack and check the resin coating for any cracks, it is likely they will need changing. Dodgy spark plug?
