I'm after a set of new/used wheels for my 944 S2 so I can get my D90's refurbished. Does anyone know the PCD and where I can get hold of some reasonably priced stand-ins?

If you don;t actually want or need to own a second set of wheels for the long term then try this bloke, who has loan sets for most common Porsches. http://www.exelwheels.co.uk/ If you do want a spare set for the long term, then ebay frequently has used D90s available off 944s and 964s. Here are some which are currently quite cheap, though of course the price will probably go up as it nears the end of the auction: http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Porsche-944-S2-D90-alloy-wheels-vw-beetle-gti-golf-16-/250969287298 There are wheel places that will turn yours around in a few days, so if you just want something compact and convenient so don;t have to keep the car on stands, and can move it in and out of the garage over that time, then the cheapest and easiest-to-store alternative is to buy another three space-savers off scrappers for about £25 a go.

???? I think the op is looking for the cheapest possible option for a few days or a week whilst his wheels are refurbished. He is not looking for an expensive replacement set of wheels if I read the post correctly [ORIGINAL: u63af I have a set of forged club sport alloys. Probably the best 16"s you can get for the car with toyo proxes. Refurbed last year. £500 ono

Cater_racer where abouts are you mate in the country? I have a set of 4x 7" wide 16" cup 1 rims with tyres on sat up at my parents in the midlands. Its the left overs from making a set of 4x 8" wide rims for the race car, I use them to run the car around on occasionally and save the race wheels/tyres. There not going to get used for couple of weeks so your welcome to borrow them.

Ahh...I see [ORIGINAL: u63af Peanut, I was meaning that he could buy refurbed club sport wheels instead and then sell the d90's. If it's just to sit on for a few days the. Leave it on axle stands
Thanks for the offer I'm in Chester, but could pick up from 50 mile radius. You're right about the short termism, www.thewheelrestorer has said he will turn them round in about a week, I guess the option of leaving it on axle stands is sensible. Its just a bit of a pain, if he takes any longer and I'm working on the car.
