trouble with central locking

Hi guys need help to indentifly the problem with my central locking system as when i push the centrl locking switch it will lock the car but when push the button again its will not unlock the car (ie lock stalk on both doors will not raise to the unlock position ) so you need to pull them up manually and they then can be lock by the central locking switch but will not unlock by the button .

any ideas guys

Does it behave itself whrn you lock and unlock with the key? If so then it sounds like the internal central locking switch is dirty or a wire has fallen off.
 
Hi Lowtimer, yes it lock/unlock fine with the key.
i would of thought that if it was a wire/connection fault ...the door will not lock when the central locking switch is push ??( does this sound dumb as i have not a clue :))
 

Ok ...had a look around , took driver's side door card off , cant find any faults ,maybe the motor is a bit weak at pushing the door lock when unlocking so I sprayed some WD40 on the locks/levers then refit the door card and test again ,
now the passenger side will lock and unlock but driver side will not lock or unlock !!!!( but you can hear the motor working though ).

any ideas guys ?
 
Alasdair...cant really tell as I've never "look" at it probably (I'm a noob i know), but cant imagine the linkage to be broken though .

probably will try and take alook at the passenger side tommorrow and see if it the same as that "seems" to work now !
 
Connecting rod should be okay as it will lock and unlock the car from the solenoid, my 220 passnger side has started playing up similar to this, i have not had the time to look at yet, a liberal coating of lubricant on the workings could well help (if nothing has broken / come adrift.
 
Yes frenchy...coated driver side with WD40 and it seems that the passenger side started to work but driver side will not lock or unlock !!, which i thought is abit odd !!
 
Is it easy to take door car off? Could do with looking at mine. God awful rattle coming from somewhere in there....
 
Jonk....its very easy, 1 screwdriver is all you need ,but make sure to have all screws off before taking the doorcard off .
