TQ: Fuel leak

Member technical question:

Attached is a photograph from the petrol tank output.
(Apologies for the poor quality but the only digital camera I have is the one on my 'phone).

Can you assist me in identifying the part description and part number.

I have a petrol leak which I thought was the hose and ring clip but it seems to be from the interface between (what appears to be) the alloy and plastic insert.

Prior to this petrol leak I had another one from the bottom of the petrol pump.
This was cured by (foolishly) blocking the hole - to get it through its MOT.
Do these symptoms suggest a blockage somewhere in the petrol supply circuit?

Thank you for your time and assistance,

Matthew O'Keefe

Are you saying that the fuel is leaking out of the pipe stub, where it exits the pump body, or from the sealing gasket where the pump screws into the tank? If it is the former then you are out of luck as the pipes are part of the pump itself. If it is the latter drain the tank and screw out the pump to replace the gasket.

If you take suitable precautions, and with the usual backside covering disclaimers that you do so at your own risk you can disconnect battery earth, determine which is the earth lead for the pump, and earth it to a convenient location. From the pump run 16A cable to a switch under the bonnet, capable of switching a continuous current of 16 amps, (the wires are protected by a 16A fuse) then run this wire to the positive terminal. Remove the pipe from the pump and arrange a fuel proof container to catch the contents. Switch on. Now you see why the switch is under the bonnet away from the fuel vapour.
