Hi Helen -

I went last year - yes it is difficult to find but not impossible. The main problems were the access roads - single track with not many passing places and the event was in a steeply banked field.

umm, not sure my 356 is going to enjoy that. it's not got much ground clearance. Thanks Randolphi might have to rethink going.

I have the following info - according to Barry Doulton R5 Reg Organiser

"Rendezvous at The Deanwater Hotel, ready to depart at 11.30 for a c35 miles scenic drive via Buxton to Topclose Farm, Macclesfield Forest, home of member Peter Farley, for his annual Teddy Bears' Picnic. Be sure to bring a picnic, along with all the paraphernalia you might need to cope with our uncertain weather, and don't forget your bears"

FYI The Deanwater Hotel can be found at SK7 1RJ

Google maps will find the farm :-
Top Close Farm, Macclesfield Forest, Macclesfield, Cheshire East SK11 0ND, UK

Hope this helps!

Thanks Graham, (i did read that in PP) but, no it dosn't help me at all as i live in the opposit direction. so to get to the meet at the Deanwater would add alot of extra miles for me. and then to add another 35 miles scenic route is totally out of the question. after drive approx 2000k miles around europe last month i've only got a couple of hundred miles left on my insurance policy for this car for the rest of the year.

is Google Maps reliable ? the article in PP says not to rely on the postcode/stat Nav as it'll take you to the wrong farm.

I've checked the Google maps it seems to select the correct farm - I think it's certain SatNavs that struggle! I have spoken to Barry, and the drive from the Deanwater is going to be around to Buxton and back past the Cat & Fiddle which is about 15 mins away from the Picnic ground - so if you want to be at the C&F for around 12.30 and keep a look out for a gaggle of Porsches you can join in from there?
