Suspension Re-Fresh - thinking of going away from OEM - thoughts? Insurance issues?

PCGB Member
Hi friends,

Moving away from the Boxster forum and straight into Modified because I think that's the right approach now. Car is a 987.2 Boxster S (63k miles).

Looks like my feared suspension issues (presumed to just be front top mounts) are larger than I thought. I'm advised to replace three out of the four lower control arms (apparently the previous owner only had one replaced at some point - odd) in addition to the front top mounts. Once we're in there, my thought is why not do a more comprehensive refresh? Possibly new coils, springs, rear top mounts... am I missing anything?

The two questions are:
1) Any recommendations for non-OEM parts? I would be looking for a stock and 'new' feeling with the option of some adjustability if I do decide to actually track it down the line... If the parts are cheaper than OEM, that helps too. Any recommendations? (If the recommendation is to stick with OEM, that's fine too).
2) Has anyone had issues with insurance when it comes to non-OEM suspension components? Do you mention it at all?

I'm new to all of this (suspension re-fresh, non-OEM parts, mentioning it to insurance, intention of tracking the car in the future).

Look forward to your comments!
My 987.2 Cayman S developed leaking (original factory fit!!) front dampers at 13 years and 85K miles. I had these replaced at OPC. Replacements were stock (Bilstein) as no intention of tracking the car. Springs and top mounts were deemed OK but top bump stops were replaced.
For mainly road use, keep it stock.
FYI, I also had the rear lower wishbone arms replaced at the same time, simply because there was evidence that the bushes had extruded from the arm although there was no sign of movement or slack. Obviously a full alignment reset was required as part of the job. I had shopped around some local garages, not Porsche specialists, and the best quote I received was only £80 less than OPC. The final OPC invoice was exactly as quoted. The invoice details below show the full list of parts and work done. The alignment charge seems rather steep, but otherwise fine. Note that the Net Total column shows a 15% discount on the Unit Price of parts. Scan20240420_0044.jpg
