Thanks Hugh! [
] I'm thinking it might be eligible for the Tour Auto. We would need to convince them that the upgrades were necessary to preserve the car and make it safe - inc upgrade from 6V dynamo to 12v alternator and driving lights. What we are not confident about is a possible engine upgrade. If it's as an original larger bhp engine I'm hoping we are ok but we'd have to get some advice before commiting to the big entry fees. Of course it would need seat belts (!) or better still harnesses and bucket seats but we'll cross that bridge if we come to it. Would be a shame to put a cage in it but again it might be necessary notwithstanding all the arguments about using harnesses without a cage - let's not go down that road with this thread as we are all familiar with race car requirements. Looks like a fabulous thing, love it. A Dauphine Gordini right?
Tour Auto eligible Renaults:
RENAULT
4CV 1060 (1954), 4CV 1062 (1951), 4CV 1063 (1952) "" Fregate (1952) "" Dauphine (1956), Dauphine Gordini (1959), Dauphine 1093 (1962) "" R8 (1963), R8 Gordini (1969) "" R12 (1972), R12 Gordini (1972)
Looks like a fabulous thing, love it.
Tour Auto scrutineering is NOT that rigourous... so as long as you can get an FIA HTP and the safety gear is in place and the induction system matches the photos on the FIA HTP you seem to be fine...
Congrats
Rick

Thanks Rick. Yes it's a 1960 Renault A 610 Dauphine Gordini. I saw the eligibility. Post 1959 Gordini is okay. We are pretty sure the engine has been modified but up to the larger spec. Here's hoping its okay. Tour Auto is April so a bit late to plan this year I think. If it was a 1957 year it would be eligible for the Miglia Mille! We are working up to it......

It's a joint purchase! Hee hee! Just to cheer up those winter blues when there's no F1, no Porsche racing and only Tesco horse burgers to eat! [
