Outside cover for me 911

Hi Daniel.

I'm using this: http://www.classicadditions.com/index.php?cPath=47_48&osCsid=1f23cea2d1af65ddf06add1bd16164e4

....have been for a couple of years and all is well. I keep the car quite heavily Zymoled (especially on the haunches and other sticky-out places) so I never had any trouble with scratches. I was going to get the heavy duty one this year but didn't bother as this one seems fine. You have the same car as me so I think yours will be around £130 - maybe less. Don't forget to ask for 10% discount - I did and they gave it to me!![:)]

If you do get one make sure that you ask for one of their duffle bags to keep it in. These fit into the boot on the C2 996 really well.

Adrian.

Lovely, thanks for that. i called them and got the 10pct off too...£94.36p including postage.
I got size C because i have a whale tail on the back.

I love my Porsche, with prices so low i may have to upgrade. i'm undecided on a 966 turbo or and early 977[:D][:D][:D]

thx

Hi Daniel. I've been toying with the idea myself for a while. I've had my 996 C2 for sale for months without a single call - almost certainly because I'm asking too much for this market but I won't drop it any more. If I had to sell it would be a different story but I'm happy with it. If I did change I would go for another C2 - but a 997. I'm just not interested in the C2S - it's just a badge.

The 997 C2S is lot different to a 997 C2 , it's not just a badge, it has a bigger engine for a start and it's quicker. Lots of other goodies too. I would buy a C2s over a C2 myself [:)]

Yes, it can't be denied that the C2S is chronologically quicker (0.2 seconds quicker to 60 mph, if I remember correctly. Gosh!). I'll always remember reading Phillip Raby's report in Total 911 not long after the 997 was launched comparing a 997 C2S against a 997 C2 with PCCB, Litronics and Sport Chrono. The resounding opinion was that the C2 was more manageable and more usable power-wise than the C2S. Granted, the C2 that they tested had PCCB but even so the C2S was still the more expensive car of the two!

It's been said many times before but the only reason that Porsche managed to sell loads more C2S's than C2's is that there's been an awful lot more money around over the last five years and people didn't mind spending the extra wonga - so long as they got the "S" on the arse end of their car! And a whole second slower to 100 :ROFLMAO:

I think the c2s looks better though myself but you pays your money etc

just take a test in a gen 2 c2 pdk and then a c2s pdk and i can assure you you will most definately want an s on your arse[:D] if youre in a c2 the s in front will disappear at an alarming rate-dont believe all the stats-just try them and you`ll understand

I agree we just need to convince adrian996 [:D]

I am quite convinced that the C2S is significantly faster and more drivable than the "cooking" C2. That is not to say that the C2 is a bad car but you get what you pay for. The C2S has adaptive suspension, lowered ride and 19" wheels. The price difference was more pronounced in the 997 gen 1 cars. I spec'd my previous C2 gen 1 with adaptive susp, 19" wheels and xenons and the difference in pricing was about 2.5K. I always regretted not getting the S but would have had to wait several months for the order and I was desperate to get into a 997 cab ( first on the register). I have now got a gen2 C2S gen2 cab with PDK and simply love it and do not regret buying it.
